What are the characteristics of the structure and use of pillar insulators

(1) Indoor post insulators are mainly composed of porcelain parts and metal accessories glued to both ends. Due to the different ways of glue-packing porcelain and metal accessories, it can be divided into inner glue, outer glue, and joint glue.

1) The inner glue installation is to install the cast iron base and the cast iron cap on the outer surface of the porcelain piece with cement glue.

2) The outer glue installation is to install the cast iron accessories in the holes of the porcelain parts with cement glue.

3) Joint glue installation is to use inner glue installation for the cast iron cap, and outer glue installation for the cast iron base.

The inner glue can reduce the insulation height of the insulator, but the mechanical strength is not as good as the outer glue and the joint glue.


(2) Outdoor post insulators. Outdoor post insulators are divided into pin insulators and solid rod insulators.

1) The Pin Insulator is mainly composed of a porcelain piece, a cast iron cap and a mounting foot with a flange. Generally used in the voltage level of 35kV and below.

2) Solid rod insulators are mainly made of solid rod porcelain and cast iron flanges glued together. Multiple solid rod insulators can be assembled into different voltage levels, and are widely used in voltage levels above 10kV. In 220～

In the 1000kV voltage level, it can be assembled by several rod insulators.

The pillar insulator has the advantages of compact structure, smooth surface, no moisture absorption, sufficient dielectric strength and mechanical strength.
